To choose between Inesis clubs, there are 2 key factors: the size (size 1 or 2) and the swing speed (slow, moderate or high). For the size, measuring it floor to wrists at home or in store allows you to quickly get an idea of what you’re looking for. As for swing speed, it’s a little more complex. A simulator requires a lot of space and can cost thousands, even tens of thousands, of euros. We therefore needed a simple, quick and accessible solution for measuring a golfer’s swing data.
The process takes less than 5 minutes, and includes four steps.
1. First of all, head to the secure space dedicated to the Swing Analyzer.
2. Then, put on the Oculus virtual reality headset, and pick up the Swing Analyzer grip. It’s a classic golf grip, the shortest club as it won’t be striking a ball, but its balance has been calibrated to be similar to a classic club.
3. Swing 10 times.
4. The application that we’ve developed will then display the average swing speed.
The Swing Analyzer development has required hundreds of hours of work. The result, that is, the data, are equivalent to those provided with a Trackman, with a 2.5% leeway margin.
The Swing Analyzer is currently being tested in the Inesis Golf Park store, in France. Feel free to head down for a demo!
