In the last chapter dedicated to the design of the new 500 and 900 woods, Nicolas, product manager for clubs, presented his brief:
We're keeping what made the previous generation successful:
We're improving:
The current range includes 3 drivers: the 100, the 500, and the 900. From an aesthetic standpoint, it's the 100 driver, redesigned in 2023, that boasts the most recent design codes. Therefore, it will be the starting point for the designers' work.
"Reading the Product Manager's brief provides the main design guidelines. For me, there are 3 points to consider:
The 500 driver will be a very forgiving club; its shapes will be generous, perhaps asymmetrical, to limit slice as much as possible. Its price will be aggressive, so we'll need to find the right solutions in terms of detail and finishes to ensure a well-crafted product. The 500 driver will be an enhancing club that will give maximum confidence at address.
In the first sketches of the 500 driver, we find classic lines and work around an asymmetrical spoiler (in dark grey) that will place the 500 driver in the family of "slice killers," clubs that help the experienced golfer close the face.
The 900 driver will be the flagship of the Inesis range. It features simple and classic lines. We have worked extensively on the integration of the spoiler and the removable weight, which will constitute the main singularity in the design of the 900 driver.
CMFG (Colors, Materials, Finishes, Graphics) is an integral part of the design work for a product like the 500 and 900 drivers. We drew our inspiration from the automotive world, architecture, and high-tech to extract the best attributes and apply them to the 500 and 900 drivers. The goal is to have very beautiful, enhancing products that are pleasing to look at and highlight the intrinsic elegance of the materials.
We are moving towards dark tones, plays of light between gloss and matte finishes, and subtle, refined graphics. The 500 and 900 drivers will be beautiful products that will benefit from all the love and care we wanted to give them.
