It is usually called the "Albatross Room" and it is used for our meetings. But COVID-19 made us alter our plans, and it was the Albatross room that paid the price. Damien, who is in charge of photography at Inesis, tells us how he transformed the meeting room into a studio for two weeks.
"My name is Damien, I am 26 years old and I have been the Image Leader at Inesis for almost 1 year now. In a word, it's my job to organise and produce the brand's visuals, including photos and videos for the web sites and the stores."
"All the ongoing work simply came to a halt, our projects in progress were called into question and we had to completely reorganise everything in order to produce visuals of the same quality as usual, but without a budget. I did not take it as something negative, but rather as an opportunity to change the way we work and to boost the creativity of the entire Artwork Department!"
"The organisation had already started on Day 30 BC (before confinement). We had already worked a lot on the briefing phases in particular, but we still had to polish things up in order to start the production phase in peace of mind. COVID obliged us to make a reshuffle in order to meet the brand's objectives, in terms of image and budget."
"It's quite special really, because this artistic direction is specific to one particular product, an ultralight fleece! This is a very important product for Inesis. The idea is to produce images that illustrate the game of golf (there's nothing new about that), but also to project the concept of "athleisure", which is a combination of athletic sport and leisure: or how to look sporty in everyday life. Therefore, we highlighted the versatility of the fleece by producing lifestyle-type images in an environment specially created for this product. I won't say any more. You'll have to wait and see the results for yourself."
"The first anecdote that comes to mind is the lifestyle dimension when we were shooting in the studio with Félix and Lucie. We prepared the textiles (other than Inesis) that belonged to them, but to me and Léa - our textiles designer - too. The problem was that I am 1m99 tall and Félix is 1m85 tall. So we obviously do not wear the same size of clothes, and do not have the same talent for golf either, but that's another story... We needed at least ten pins to adjust the fit of every item of clothing he put on. So why no fashion designer? Thriftiness and creativity were what it took. Taking pictures "on-the-go" with what we had close at hand was quite a challenge, but the results speak for themselves!"
