We have created the Ultralight Down Jacket to protect you from the cold when the temperature is between 10 and 20°C. And you can find there to be a 10°C difference in temperature between when you start the game and when you finish. You know this if you tend to start play in the early hours or finish when the sun is setting. The Ultralight Down Jacket is a versatile piece of clothing that you can easily forget about thanks to its light weight when wearing it and its compactness when stored in its bag. Its weight/warmth ratio is amazing.
A down jacket is a padded jacket that has a down lining. Invented in the beginning of the 1900s, it was originally a garment used in mountain climbing, because its weight/warmth ratio is unmatched.
These are the properties that we are looking for a golf fabric where we need maximum freedom of movement to swing freely.
And to further improve this characteristic, we opted for a sleeveless cut. The jacket is able to keep the upper body warm enough to do away with sleeves, which is important for a swing with no constraints.
The Ultralight Down Jacket has a cut that is specifically designed for golf. It's mainly a question of length. At address, when leaning forward, the down jacket must not be too long to avoid creating ugly bulges that are annoying when pivoting. Essentially, it is a question of compromise. We have increased the length twice during the development. Because we didn’t want it to lift up during your swing and we know that you wear your down jacket before and after golf sessions. In this respect, we wanted to come up with an athletic and elegant cut.
The Ultralight Down Jacket is available in two versions: men's and women's. The cut is a straight cut for men and slim fit for women.
We have chosen a horizontal quilting. It is a great classic that most people will appreciate and that matches the spirit of golf. The Ultralight Down Jacket’s fabric is very soft to the touch for more comfort, and supply for greater freedom of movement. Finally, it is silent, which is great for playing golf without being distracted by unwanted noise.
The down is almost magical. Let us explain. We are talking about a mix of down (85%) and grey duck feathers (15%). It is a natural component that has exceptional qualities. We made no compromise on quality. In fact, we have chosen the best down available to us. Its fill power is guaranteed at 660 CUIN (European standard). This represents the thermal insulation potential of the down – its ability to "trap" a given volume of air. As such, the greater the loft of the down (the higher the CUIN value), the more space it takes up, the more air it traps and therefore the more insulating from the cold it is.
Finally, the down is extremely compact. The Ultralight Down Jacket comes with a pouch. Once folded inside, you have a highly compact item, which can be thrown into your bag. In fact you can even have it on you at all times because it takes up almost no space so you don’t have to choose between bringing the down jacket and another accessory.
“I’ve done a lot of work on the padding. We’ve chosen a classic and timeless horizontal pattern because we wanted this down jacket to be worn while golfing as if you were in town. The spacing between the padding is closer to visually emphasise the lightweight design of the product. This down jacket is very versatile. It can be worn over a polo shirt, a pullover or a shirt. It will keep you warm and go unnoticed under a jacket. If you get caught out in the rain, it is water repellent, i.e. water droplets run off the fabric until you can find shelter or put on waterproof clothing.
We want your Ultralight Down Jacket to last as long as possible. And as it is a product that is made of natural materials, there are a few tips when washing it. Machine-wash, synthetic cycle, 30°C. Add two tennis balls and other clothing to preserve the loft of your down jacket. Ideally, run two rinse cycles and gentle spin. To restore volume to your down jacket, tumble dry, again adding two tennis balls. If you don't have one, don't worry. Put your down jacket on a hanger and pat it as it dries to prevent the feathers from clumping together.
