In recent years, the CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket has made a noticeable arrival on the fairways. It must be said that the weight/warmth ratio is amazing.
After the MW500 sleeveless down jacket designed for temperatures between 10 and 20°C, we wanted to develop a cold weather version (temperatures between 0 and 10°C).
In these temperatures, sleeves are necessary. And that's where things get complicated. It's virtually impossible to have a warm and comfortable padded jacket for winter golf because they have no stretch. This is true even with the addition of elastane, which we're not too keen on because it pollutes and cannot be recycled.
The stakes are high: how do you design a warm and comfortable padded jacket for golfing in winter?
The CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket is not just any old padded jacket. It has a secret weapon: its patented "HEATFLEX" technology.
The sleeves and body are not stitched directly together. They are joined via a stretch mesh component.
"The CW900 HEATFLEX down jacket offers up to +30% more freedom of movement than a conventional down jacket."
We wanted to make this technology almost invisible from the outside, so that the padded jacket looks understated and elegant and can be worn in all circumstances.
The CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket has been designed for golfing and keeping warm in cold weather (temperatures between 0° and 10°C).
To achieve this, we selected a 100% recycled polyester "ball fibre" wadding. These are small balls of wadding which have a warmth/weight ratio similar to that of feathers. This type of wadding has the advantage of being much easier to care for. Unlike down, it does not clump together in wet weather or in the washing machine.
Our team of component engineers have developed an outer fabric that meets the demands of winter golf. The CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket is windproof and water repellent allowing you to comfortably play in cold wind, wet conditions and even light rain.
We tested the warmth qualities of the CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket in the thermal lab and it has been certified for use down to -10°C when worn as a third layer (undershirt, jumper, padded jacket) and -2°C as a second layer (undershirt, padded jacket).
The CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket exists in both men's and women's versions.
The cut of the CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket has been designed to keep you comfortable while playing golf while still being smart or feminine. For example, the volume of wadding is slightly reduced in the sleeves as your arms are less sensitive to the cold than the rest of your body and this allows the sleeves to be slimmer to prevent any discomfort while playing golf.
The men's version has a straight cut, while the women's version has a slim fit.
The back is slightly longer than the front to keep the lower back protected, as it is more exposed in winter.
The collar is padded so that it fits snugly but never gets in the way during the golf swing.
The CW900 HEATFLEX padded jacket is made from recycled materials. The main inner/outer fabric is recycled polyamide, the ball fibre filling is recycled wadding and the mesh used for the sleeve articulation is also recycled.
